Is Buying and Selling Real Estate an Emotion-Based Experience or Strictly a Financial Investment?
For years we have heard phrases like “don’t get attached to this house, it’s just business” or “don’t make decisions based on your emotions”. And this may be sage advice, especially in today’s HOT and competitive Colorado market. As a mortgage lender, I help my clients plan their financial future as it will develop within a real estate investment. We discuss financing options available as well as short and long term strategy based on specific goals and desires. It’s all about building strategic wealth. I like to send clients out well informed and well prepared … to make the best NON-Emotional financial decisions possible. Following in that same lead, my Realtor partners spend a good deal of time informing our clients that they *might not* get their offer accepted on the first house they love, or the second house, or even the third house. Colorado real estate is all about persistence. And it is all about making decisions based on strategy.
All of this being said, I believe it wise, in our world today, to support the emotional aspect of Real Estate as well. Yes we are selling real estate, yes we are dealing in large sums of money, but at the end of the day, we are still helping people find their home-sweet-home. A place where they will build memories with their loved ones. A place where they will start new traditions. A place where they will fill their hearts with love.
